Gemscript Release April 2020 Delayed
We are writing to advise you that there has been a delay in releasing the April 2020 Gemscript Release.
This is due to a particularly high number of Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) drug safety updates that must be put through our rigorous testing process before release.
The March 2020 Gemscript release unfortunately included an error that was introduced in the NHS Dictionary of Medicines and Devices (dm+d) produced by the NHS Business Authority, namely that the Abasaglar Kwikpen product had mistakenly been marked as discontinued in the dm+d. The April 2020 Gemscript release reverses this error by reinstating Abasaglar Kwikpen as electronically prescribable and we will get it to you as soon as we are able.
In the meantime, to prescribe the Abasaglar Kwikpen, you can issue a handwritten prescription, make a note of those you have hand written and then add them to Vision 3 or Vision Anywhere when you receive the April 2020 Gemscript Release.
